METAL SLUG
Publisher: SNK Playmore
Developer: SNK Playmore
Genre: Side-Scrolling Shooter
Release Date: Holiday 06
Metal Slug is one of those few titles that not only outlived the upright arcade game and NeoGeo console it was originally designed for, but it still holds it's own against even the most innovative, high-tech games of today. A 2D side-scroller that is chock-full of fast paced action and smooth gameplay. This time SNK isn't releasing a variation of the game, as they did in 2004 with Metal Slug Advance, this is a direct port of the original classic and plays just as good as ever. The bonus is if you connect two GBAs via a multi-link cable you, can blow stuff up in a two player mode, just like the original.Naruto: Ninja Council 2
Publisher: D3 Publisher of America/ TOMY Corporation
Developer: Aspect
Genre: Fighter
Release Date: Fall 2006 From the Japanese anime series about that mischievous Ninja in training, Naruto, comes the second in the Ninja Council series for the GBA. The demo was really strong and slick. Think Street Fighter 2 on steroids. There are three playable characters you can switch between in mid-battle, each of which has their own unique abilities and special moves. Part of the challenge is figuring out which characters are best suited to tackle the various battles. The special moves are extensive and often trigger an animated cut-scene of the elaborate power being used. One my favorite abilities is that you can transport behind or above your enemy during battle. The graphics are great and will entertain new and old school fans alike.
