Glossary
Consider this to be your own personal dictionary of video game terms. Find the meaning to all those complicated slang words that hardcore gamers throw about or the technical jargon of game developers and publishers. These aren't necessarily the exact dictionary definitions but the meaning they take on in the video game context.
Cartridge
The casing and hardware containing a video game software program.
CGI / Computer-Generated Imagery
A technique where three dimensional animations are created using computer software.
Console
Console: A home video game system that connects to a television and/or monitor and utilizes external controllers.
Gaming
1. Alternate term for the video game genre.
2. The act of accessing or playing video games.

Handheld
Handheld: Portable video game system that integrates the processor, screen and controls in a single unit that is small enough to fit in and be played with wholly in ones hand.
Platformer
A game where the goal is to movie through a level via a series of platforms often by running and jumping.
Port / Porting
To modify video game software for one platform so it can be used on a different platform.
