Madden NFL 07 Hits the Gridiron Today
Who says there's age discrimination in video games? In what other business can an all time best selling series get named after an overweight, 70 year old guy dressed in a suit and tie? The biggest sports franchise ain't in your local stadium, but on your GBA as Madden NFL 07, which tackles its way onto shelves today courtesy of EA Sports.
It's been just under two years since the NFL signed a controversial five year exclusive agreement with EA. It was an obvious play to force out the competition, but although the agreement gave EA all-inclusive rights to use each NFL team, which this game includes, they were not able to get exclusivity to the players themselves. It's a good thing too because otherwise we wouldn't have the other great non-EA Sports titles like Backyard Football.
Regardless of the exclusive NFL agreement, EA Sports still put a great effort into their annual Madden offering, with some of the best football gameplay around. According to the press release the GBA version will also have "exclusive mini-games; offense and defense skills games, punting and running skills games, and more.".
