Majesco Announces Strawberry Shortcake: Sweet Dreams for the Game Boy Advance
80s-retro buffs prepare yourselves, that "cute little doll with a strawberry smell" is back, and this time it's personal! Strawberry Shortcake is starring in her very first CGI theatrical film, "Strawberry Shortcake: Sweet Dreams" from 20th Century Fox, and Majesco Entertainment will be publishing the game based on it for the Game Boy Advance.
In this new adventure the sinister Purple Pieman is stealing the dreams from everyone in Strawberryland, so Strawberry Shortcake and her friends Raspberry Torte, Angel Cake, Ginger Snap and Sleepbug must travel to the Land of Dreams to stop him. According to the Majesco there will be "Flying, driving and adventure scenarios challenge the characters to work together." and "As the game progresses, My Sweets mode also details each character's accomplishments and unlocks special pictures". The game is scheduled to release along with the film in late September 06.
The game will be developed by Gorilla System Corp. who are no strangers to this super sweet franchise. Along with Majesco they previously created Strawberry Shortcake: Summertime Adventure, which took the number 10 slot in my picks for the Top 10 Summer Games for the Game Boy Advance.
